Biography
Jacques Roubaud is a poet, mathematician, and translator. A member of the Oulipo group, his works include numerous collections of poetry, the Hortense novels, The Great Fire of London, The Loop, and Mathematics. He has received the Prix France-Culture, the Grand Prix National de la Poésie, and the Grand Prix de Littérature Paul-Morand, among other prizes; and has been a professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, the European Graduate School, and the University of Paris X.
